Stuart Pearce will be named as Manchester City boss at the end of the season, say The Sun, despite having not recorded a victory with his adopted side. It is felt in the Citeh camp that Pearce is the 'right man' for the job and will be a 'great success' in Manchester once he has put his stamp on the side.


DEL PIERO TO CHELSEA
Chelsea have apparently made contact with Juventus about signing Alessandro Del Piero after the over-the-hill striker made it known that he wants to enjoy a stint in the Premiership. Juve officials have reportedly said that Del Piero is not for sale, although it is likely that the Italian will demand a move


REYES DOES U-TURN, SORT-OF
Arsenal striker Jose Reyes is now insisting that he is happy at Arsenal after realising that no offer from Real Madrid was forthcoming. The Spaniard was virtually begging for a move after admitting that he wasn't settled in London. He has still left the door ajar incase Real are keen, he said: "Joining Arsenal was the best decision I've ever made. There's been a lot of talk that I want to join Real Madrid this summer but the truth is that I'm happy at Arsenal. I still expect to achieve more success and win many more titles here. But nobody must forget that Spain is my country and Real Madrid are the best team there. So, if they want me, it's understandable I'd think about it seriously."
