Derby manager Jim Smith is hoping his new striker Esteban Fuertes' recent suspension will give him a chance to settle. Smith says the Argentinian has been confused by the Rams' hectic schedule since he arrived at the club and feels referees are picking on him.

Smith said: ''I shall not be giving him time off or letting him go home to Argentina. It is important that he should be working with us on the training ground.''
