WARNOCK ANGRY OVER ROBINSON CHALLENGE

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock was up in arms over the lack of punishment for John Robinson after the Charlton match-winner tussled with Michael Brown as he scored the only goal of today's Division One clash at The Valley. Warnock said: ''I thought John Robinson should have been sent off for elbowing Michael Brown in the face. It was as a black-and-white a decision as you will see. It was right in front of our dug-out, and I think it was embarrassing that the referee failed to see it.

''We are disappointed because Charlton are the best team in the league but we have matched them throughout the game, and I felt we deserved at least a point from the game. It just shows how far we have come that we can make the leaders work hard for a win.''

Charlton manager Alan Curbishley came to the defence of his own player and said: ''John Robinson hasn't got a nasty bone in his body, and there is no way he elbowed him. There are going to be times when we have to work hard for our points; we can't always play excellent football every week. We're at the top, and the pressure is on us to stay there. All we have to do is keep plugging away and winning games.''
