VAN NISTELROOY INJURED
Sought-After Striker Out For At Least Six Weeks
DUTCH international striker Ruud van Nistelrooy - a transfer magnet for several Premiership clubs - will be out of action for at least six weeks after being injured in a friendly.
Van Nistelrooy suffered an injury to the ligaments of his right knee during a match against Danish side Silkeborg.
A spokesman for his club PSV Eindhoven said Van Nistelrooy would be out of action for six to eight weeks.
Van Nistelrooy is the current leading scorer in the Dutch championship with 29 goals this season. Arsenal, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Liverpoool, as well as Inter Milan, have indicated interest in signing van Nistelrooy at the end of the season.
