GOOD WEEK, BAD WEEK

Seven Days Of Footballing Winners And Losers

Compiled by Pete Gill

IT'S BEEN A GOOD WEEK FOR...
Clydebank After 26 failed attempts they've finally managed to win a league game!

Sergei Rebrov Two decisive goals for Dynamo Kiev against Rosenborg in the Champions League were not only priceless for his club but will have added millions to the striker's transfer value. That should rule out a rumoured move to Alan Sugar's Tottenham, then.

Stan Collymore He woke up on Sunday morning to find himself on the front pages of the tabloids (again) but finished the day with the match ball and a bottle of champagne after a hat-trick on his home debut for Leicester. Unfortunately, we'll probably read about his post-match celebrations in the next edition of The News of the World.

Georgi Kinkladze A match-winning performance for Derby against Wimbledon gave the Rams renewed hope and probably earned the Georgian genius a long-term deal with the club. Let's just hope Jim Smith's boys remain in the Premiership, eh Gio?

AND IT'S BEEN A GREAT WEEK FOR...
Charlton It's now 12 successive league wins for the Addicks leaving them 12 points clear at the top of Division One and cruising towards promotion. And this time you sense they may be equipped to survive in the Premiership.

IT'S BEEN A BAD WEEK FOR...
Manchester City After failing to beat Crystal Palace at the weekend, a shock home defeat by QPR on Wednesday night has left the Maine Road club out of the automatic promotion places and looking distinctly wobbly.

Stuart Pearce Regardless of his strength of character and manager Harry Redknapp's reassuring words, the future looks bleak for the 37-year-old after he broke the same leg in the same place for the second time in six months. 365 wishes Psycho well, but sometimes it's best to face up to the inevitable.

Burnley It all seems to be going wrong for the Clarets, who lost 2-0 at home to Luton on Tuesday just three days after being thrashed 3-0 in the local derby with Preston, also at Turf Moor. And still no goals for Ian Wright.

The French And that's regardless of the alleged racist comments at Villa Park on Sunday and the misconduct charge for Emmanuel Petit. Our pals from across the channel can consider their two participants in the Champions League, Bordeaux and Marseille, to have been bloody unlucky to have lost to Manchester United and Chelsea respectively. Still, Frank Leboeuf is happy with his wage packet, so we shouldn't sympathise too much.

AND IT'S BEEN A TERRIBLE WEEK FOR...
Celtic For the second year running, arch rivals Rangers have surely wrapped up the title at, of all places, Parkhead. But what's worse is that the Hoops only have themselves to blame after an unexpected defeat at Hibernian on Sunday and a host of missed chances on Wednesday.

They do have the forthcoming League Cup Final against Aberdeen to look forward to - but that's probably not much of a consolation.
